And why you should apply more when you hit the slopes…

Your’s truly is the one alway chasing everybody’s ass with a sunscreen stick when we hit the slopes. As I should! Because a lot of people seem to forget that you should ALWAYS wear SPF. If not to keep skin cancer at bay, then at the very least think about the wrinkles you can avoid and the money you will save on botox and the like at a later stage. Listen to me now, thank me later.

But especially be careful when you plan on hitting the slopes. Fresh snow acts like a giant reflector, bouncing those UV rays right back at you. And if you're up in the mountains, the thinner air means even less protection from the sun's glare. So slather up a bit more!

These are our favorite winter sports SPF products

Beauty of Joseon - Matte Sun stick

Korean skincare is usually top-of-the-line, especially when it comes to SPF Korean brands are not joking. This stick came to me highly recommended and at a very friendly pricepoint. Which is another benefit of K-beauty, it’s friendly pricing. The Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick is a must-have for anyone with oily or shine-prone skin.

This SPF 50 PA++++ sun stick provides serious broad-spectrum UV protection while leaving a beautiful matte finish. Infused with camellia and mugwort extract, it also hydrates and calms the skin. A true game-changer.

Origins- Ginseng SPF40 Energy Boosting Tinted Moisturizer

Not the best when it comes to SPF (only 40, no sunblock). But this is a tinted moisturizer, so it wíll make you look good and comes packed with a bunch of natural energizing ingredients like Panax Ginseng and coffee bean extract to give your skin a serious boost. Meaning this does WONDERS for a cracked wintery skin.

My advice - since I think you need some heavier sun protection in the mountains - is to apply this over a lightweight sunblock so you’ll get some extra protection and let Origins take care of the glow.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Stick

For me, the La Roche Porsay stick is synonym to sun protection since I can remember and it remains one of my favorites to date. The latest evolution in the pharmacy brand’s sun block sticks is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Stick. It’s SPF 50+ offers reliable broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection with a hydrating, non-irritating formula, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

It earns praise for its lack of white cast and non-stinging eye area application. You can also opt for the cream/milk option if you don’t like stick application.

Dr. Jart+ Every Day Sun Day

One of my favorite brands in general, I live by their Ceraminin Moisturizer. Better said: can’t live without it in winter time. And I’m just as excited for their sunscreen protection which live up to Korean Beauty standards.

This lightweight, lightly scented mineral sunscreen offers SPF 50+ protection without the greasiness or chalkiness common to mineral formulas. While it's pricier than some, its smooth, matte finish and easy application make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a non-drying, effective mineral sunscreen. It may not be ideal for very dry skin.

Biodermal Hyaluronic Acid Sunscreen

Sensitive skin? You can hardly go wrong with Biodermal, I’ve been using this for years, year-round. This mid-range face sunscreen from Biodermal offers broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection along with the hydrating benefits of hyaluronic acid.

The milky cream formula is fragrance-free and ideal for sensitive skin, providing long-lasting moisture without feeling heavy or greasy. It's a great choice for daily use to protect against sun damage and maintain skin hydration.
